Every year, we partner with the Maine College of Art to give a graduating student who shows promise in the field of printmaking a studio membership for one year.
This is a fellowship that gives a student access to our printshop to keep their studio practice going, as well as supports them in providing opportunities for creative entrepreneurship. In exchange for the membership, the fellow is required to complete a 40 hour production printing project for the college during the year. The fellow is given any training and support needed to accomplish this project. Letterpress Printed Graduation Invitations, Notecards, and screen printed moleskin notebooks have been some of the projects our fellows have accomplished.
Graduating students are encouraged to apply when the school sends our information and application in the spring. Application, portfolio, and an interview are required, and a jury awards the fellowship to one student each April. Interested students should contact the Artist at Work program director, Jessica Tomlinson.
